I have been employed with Abbey Residential Services for a little shy of two years. I was a Property Manager over 15 small assets prior to my hire with this company and at the young age of 24, had a lot to learn!  During my interview with the President of the company, I was told that my lack of financial training was concerning but that I embodied a true fighter. She told me she admired my willingness to accept and embrace challenges and was willing to give me a shot. I still remember my current Regional Manager telling me as I left the interview that she could see a familiar spark within me...a spark that at my age, she had herself.

Abbey Residential Services took a chance on me and hired me to manage a 198 unit property. Within my first six months, I learned more from Jenny Moore, my Regional Manager, than I had learned in my prior five years of experience in the business. Abbey took the time to train me and was the first and only company I have ever worked for, that understood both the power and the need to motivate and praise their employees.

Jenny Moore has become so much more to me than my Regional--she has become my mentor. In less than a year and a half, I was selected to be promoted to a 585 unit property to manage an asset that had been recently purchased. I now manage a staff of 12 and have grown more as a manager, leader, role model and employee than I could have ever dreamed! Working for Abbey is what feels right! The company backs my ideas and opinions, they praise me for a job well done and they challenge me to complete tomorrow better than today! Thus, I come home each and every day feeling appreciated, valued and most of all, important!

With Abbey Residential Services, despite the thousands of units owned and hundreds of employees employed, I am more than just another person on payroll--I am a woman that has become empowered through my job--a woman that feels accomplished and productive with each passing day. I am a huge advocate of this company, the corporate leadership, my amazing Regional and our wonderful team! As a young woman working in this industry, I know how difficult it is to find people whom can look past my young age and instead value me for my hard work. As a young woman that came from a challenging upbringing with little to no family, I know how hard it is to find a company that is filled with people I consider closer to me than my own blood. Abbey Residential Services has not only helped me to reach my potential; but, they have also become my daily support. I have never worked around a more positive and talented group of people in my entire life. I love Abbey Residential Services and can truly say, from the bottom of my heart, I hope to be here another forty years until I retire! I could not imagine working anywhere else!

Having been in the apartment industry for almost 20 years now, I am extremely selective about where I hang my career “hat”.  After extensive research, I was so impressed by what I learned about this company, as well as the wonderful industry feedback I received from everyone I talked to about Abbey Residential Services, that I was beyond excited to have an opportunity to come and join this team!  I’m so proud to be able to say that I work for Abbey Residential Services, and it has been an exciting and wonderful adventure!  I can’t wait to see what the future holds for our team!
